Bus fares in Baku central area are the same for both BTA owned and private bus operators – 0.30 manat. This can change for some routes operating from the center to suburban areas (up to 0.50 manats). Fares in buses operating by BakuBus can be paid only by BakiKART. Buses of some private companies may allow you to pay your fare in cash (as well as by BakiKART) inside the bus. One of the several advantages of the BakiKART is that it can be topped up as many times as you wish and can be used by any number of people as long as there is enough credit for the ride per passenger. On the other hand, you can use the same card in the metro, without any distance limitations.
